Urban Pacific Sanctuary Public Art StrategyFletcher NSW2009 Planning and development of an arts strategy to be implemented over the development of a large residential estate near Newcastle. The objective of the project is to foster a sense of place, contribute to the legibility of the public space and help incoming residents foster a connection with the history and culture of the area. Lithgow City Council Cultural Precinct StudyLithgow NSW2009 - current Artscape has been engaged by Lithgow City Council to investigate the opportunities and constraints for the development of a Cultural Precinct. Artscape’s role includes assessing the current site and venues before setting the framework for the staged implementation of a Cultural Precinct. It is envisaged that the Cultural Precinct will attract and support cultural industries and activities in the heart of Lithgow. TOP |

Landcom Vantage Art ProgramNelson Bay NSW2006-current Planning and implementation of an innovative public art strategy for a residential subdivision. The art program is based on a collaborative process between the landscape architects at Andrews Neil and artist Braddon Snape. Artscape developed a public art strategy and a collaboration strategy to establish the framework for the integration of public art at the site and is currently coordinating the delivery of the art program. Sydney Wharf Wharf VIII+IX Art and Interpretive SchemeSydney NSW2007-2008 Artscape was engaged to develop a strategy to guide the incorporation of public art and an historical interpretative scheme into the public boardwalk space of a residential development on Sydney Harbour. The Public Art Strategy was developed through analysis of the site’s historical context, pedestrian movement patterns, views and sightlines and public space use. Artist Braddon Snape was selected to develop a public art response that explored the notion of the boardwalk as an edge zone between water and land. TOP |

Orange City Council (in association with Andrews Neil) Survey of Culturally Significant TreesOrange NSW2008 This project arose out of a Survey of Culturally Significant Landscape Features for Orange City Council. Warrnambool City Council Public Art and Cultural Materials Management PlanWarrnambool Vic2007-2008 A three part project encompassing the entire Warrnambool Local Government Area. The project included: an audit of public art and cultural materials; a review of current public art policy and processes; development of acquisition, management and de-acquisition procedures; and a broad scale public art strategy. Cessnock City Council Performing Arts Centre Public Art Plan and GuidelinesCessnock NSW2007-2008 Artscape was engaged to develop of a Public Art Plan and Guidelines to provide the curatorial, selection and procurement framework for the commission of a signature public art piece for the new Performing Arts Centre. Artscape then provided guidance to Council for the selection of an artist for the commission. TOP |

Orange City Council (in association with Andrews Neil) Survey of Culturally Significant Landscape FeaturesOrange NSW2006 A NSW Heritage Award winning project based on identification, research and database development of significant cultural features within the urban and rural landscape of Orange. Artscape worked with Andrews Neil to identify, research and to develop a web-based system for the cataloguing of significant cultural landscapes. Energy Australia National Trust Heritage Award for a Cultural Heritage Project (Government/Corporate) 2006. TOP |

Gosford Regional Gallery Central Coast Exhibition Facilities ReviewGosford NSW2006 Artscape was engaged to conduct a region wide audit of potential exhibition venues and subsequent development of a set of recommendations aimed at the upgrade of these venues into exhibition spaces for local artists. Landcom Koala Bay Estate Public Art ProgramPort Stephens NSW2004-2009 Planning and project management of a public art program for a 254-lot Landcom residential subdivision at Port Stephens, NSW. The plan for the public art program emphasised the creation of a connection between the incoming residents and their new neighbourhood through an exploration of the local area’s history, environment and culture. Artists included Mini Heath, Charlie Trivers and John Turier. TOP |

Landcom Southern Hoxton Park Aerodrome Release AreaSydney NSW2005 Strategic planning of a large scale public art program, based on a layered history of the site, for a 690 lot residential estate in Western Sydney. The Public Art Strategy integrated placemaking principles with a multi-tiered artwork strategy that responded to the history and environment of the site. TOP |
